Open Water Diver Class Packet
Included with the cost of class. Start your adventure today – these materials are yours to take home when you sign up for class!

  Open Water Diver Manual
These materials are designed to prepare you for the open water SCUBA course. The home-study design allows the student plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the information at home, before class. This means less time spent in the classroom, and more time learning skills in the pool.

  DVD or Video
This DVD corresponds with the Open Water Diver manual. It often helps to see divers in action using the equipment and skills that you will be learning about in the open water class. The video is a great way to get geared up to start learning to dive.

  No-Decompression Limit Dive Tables
Divers use these tables to calculate depth and time limits according to theoretical nitrogen absorption calculations. It looks complicated, but we’ll have you planning your own dives in no time!

Open water classes are held every month.  Ask for a current schedule of upcoming classes, and sign up today!

Open Water Diver Equipment
Required for pool and open water diving.

  Mask
The mask is maybe the most important piece of equipment you can buy. We dive to see what’s out there, and an improperly fitting mask can dramatically decrease your enjoyment of the underwater world. Our sales associates can help you choose a mask with the proper fit, ensuring your comfort underwater.  Masks can also be fitted with prescription lenses to bring all the amazing sites into focus.

  Snorkel
There are 2 basic types of snorkels, dry and wet. The dry snorkel keeps water from entering the snorkel when it is submerged, while the wet snorkel must be cleared upon surfacing. You may be wondering why divers use snorkels at all, snorkels help us to conserve air on long surface swims, or while waiting for the boat to pick us up.

  Fins
Fins help propel a diver through the water more efficiently. Fins come in many different styles, and a wide range of prices. Fins with adjustable straps require booties, while fitted fins do not. When shopping for fins, we are looking for efficiency and ease of use.
